Overview

Responsible for helping to visually tell the story of our vibrant, evolving club. This internship offers hands-on experience in capturing and producing high-quality video content that brings our member experiences, club events, and unique atmosphere to life.
The ideal candidate is a motivated storyteller with a strong eye for detail, drone operation skills, and a passion for creating engaging content across digital platforms.

What You’ll Be Doing

May include but not limited to:

 

Photo and Video Production

  • Assist in filming and producing video content for use across social media, the club website, and internal communications
  • Capture dynamic footage of member activities, golf tournaments, dining experiences, seasonal events, and special moments around the club
  • Support promotional shoots and live event coverage to showcase the KCC lifestyle
  • Take high-quality photos of food, beverages, events, and venue spaces for use on social media and marketing materials

Video Editing

  • Edit raw footage into polished, on-brand videos optimized for various platforms
  • Add music, transitions, captions, and other enhancements to elevate visual storytelling
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to ensure consistency with the club’s tone and messaging

 

Social Media Content Creation

  • Develop short-form, high-impact videos for Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and other platforms
  • Create video promos for upcoming events, special offers, and club highlights
  • Contribute to monthly highlight reels and teaser videos to boost engagement

Collaborative Projects

  • Participate in brainstorming sessions and creative planning with the marketing and communications teams
  • Assist in storyboarding, scheduling shoots, and organizing creative assets
  • Offer fresh ideas for capturing and communicating the club’s energy, heritage, and ongoing transformation

 

Equipment & Technical Support

  • Help set up and manage videography equipment (cameras, lighting, audio gear, etc.)
  • Organize and archive footage in a structured, accessible way
  • Provide basic troubleshooting during filming as needed

Event Coverage

  • Film major club events including golf tournaments, family celebrations, member socials, and charity functions
  • Capture behind-the-scenes content that highlights KCC’s culture, people, and hospitality
  • Help develop recap videos that showcase the success and spirit of each event

Other Duties as Assigned

  • Upload final video content to the website and social media platforms
  • Assist with digital content strategy and execution
  • Support the KCC Marketing and Membership team in other creative tasks and projects as needed

Communications Intern | Kalamazoo Country Club

Overview

Responsible for assisting in the organization and execution of internal and external communications across all departments of the Kalamazoo Country Club. This individual will play a vital role in keeping our communication streamlined, accurate, and timely, ensuring an exceptional experience for both our members and our team. This internship is ideal for a student studying Communications, Marketing, Hospitality Management, or a related field who thrives in a dynamic, hands-on environment and enjoys wearing multiple hats.

What You’ll Be Doing

May include but not limited to:

 

Communications Coordination:

  • Gather, organize, and maintain all communication materials from various departments
  • Build and manage a centralized communications timeline/calendar
  • Ensure consistency and accuracy in all outward-facing member communications

 

Website Oversight:

  • Routinely check for accuracy, outdated information, and usability issues
  • Coordinate with appropriate departments for content updates

 

Member Texting System:

  • Respond to member inquiries and “zingles” in a timely, professional manner
  • Review and maintain accuracy of auto-responses and system messages

 

Member Engagement & Recognition:

  • Monitor and report on unspent food and beverage minimums
  • Prepare and send birthday cards for members
  • Assist in distribution of member guides and event follow-up surveys

 

Team Member Engagement:

  • Coordinate birthday and work anniversary recognition for staff
  • Support ongoing team morale and recognition efforts

 

Administrative Support:

  • Maintain and update the KCC Master Calendar
  • Prepare and organize post-event wrap-up documents
  • Reset member website passwords upon request
  • Print and distribute updated menus and flyers throughout the clubhouse
  • Rotate marketing materials and event flyers as needed

Assistant Tennis Professional | Kalamazoo Country Club

Overview

We’re looking for a passionate and energetic racquets professional to help lead lessons, manage daily club operations, and support exciting events like tournaments, junior camps, and mixers. You’ll work closely with the Head Pro and Director to deliver top-tier instruction, coordinate programs, and create a welcoming, high-energy environment for players of all ages, that keep members coming back year after year.

 

Mission Statement

Racquets DepartmentThe mission of the Racquets Operation is to offer a comprehensive program that is responsive to the needs of the membership, including a consistent level of service that meets or exceeds expectations.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Teaching / Instructional Program
    • Teach engaging lessons, clinics, and team practice sessions for both members and children
    • Collaborate with the Head Racquets Professional to plan, execute, and manage all instructional programs, lesson plans, and new programs including: Junior Racquets Program, “Intra-Club” League Program, Summer Racquets Camp program, Junior Development Instructional Program 
    • Ensure accurate completion of member charges and payment for all junior program lessons, intra-club leagues, special events, tournaments and social events
    • Oversee hiring and coordination of part-time instructors for the Summer Racquets Camp Program 
    • Collaborate with the director to plan a Junior Racquets Calendar of events each year

 

  • Events & Programs 
    • Assist with running member tournaments, mixers, and other special events
    • Assist members in finding the perfect team for league play, ensuring they’re matched with the right group to enhance their experience and foster lasting connections
    • Notify the Director of any member inquiries regarding league teams or interest in joining a new team
    • Observe members during league play to offer tailored feedback and guidance in team practices and clinics

 

  • Operations 
    • Act as the “Manager on Duty” in overseeing all work performed by part-time employees
    • Prepare all material for the club Newsletter and monthly update of the club website
    • Assist with staffing the Pro Shop Front Desk and Racquets Pavilion when necessary.
    • Assist with managing and executing opening facilities each morning (court prep, bathroom maintenance and stocking, pavilion, patio, and walkway checks, garbage disposal, etc.)

 

 

Assistant Tennis Instructor | Kalamazoo Country Club

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Assist in planning and conducting tennis lessons, clinics, and camps for beginners, intermediates, and advanced players, under the direction of the Head Pro.

  • Help manage group dynamics during lessons, ensuring all participants receive attention and opportunities to practice.
  • Set up and maintain courts, including equipment like nets, balls, and cones, before and after sessions.

  • Assist in promoting tennis programs through engagement with members, distributing flyers, or supporting social media efforts.
  • Support the organization and execution of tournaments, social events, or inter-club matches.

  • Help with scheduling lessons, tracking attendance, and maintaining records of player progress.

Food & Beverage Manager | Kalamazoo Country Club

Overview

The Food & Beverage Manager at Kalamazoo Country Club is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of all dining outlets, bars, banquets, and special events, ensuring an exceptional member and guest experience. This role requires a hands-on leader with a passion for service excellence, team development, and operational efficiency. The Food & Beverage Manager will play a key role in staff training, service execution, financial management, and maintaining the highest hospitality standards in alignment with the club’s vision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Staff Development
    • Recruit, train, and mentor a high-performing front-of-house team, fostering a positive and professional work environment.
    • Conduct ongoing training programs to ensure staff is knowledgeable in service standards, menu offerings, and club policies.

Head Racquets Professional

Overview

The Kalamazoo Country Club is a jewel tucked in the heart of Kalamazoo that will take you away from the hustle of the city to a breathtakingly beautiful and serene year-round resort. Enjoyable activities are in full swing every month at KCC. Each month we feature unique social events for both adults and children. Family time is a focus at KCC with youth enrichment activities and events scheduled weekly indoors as well as outdoors. During spring and summer, you will find our Members outside golfing, swimming, playing pickleball and tennis, socializing and participating in events on our patios and grounds. In the winter look for members playing platform tennis, sledding, ice fishing, cross-country skiing, and snowshoeing, as well as participating in indoor programming, dining, and family memory-making celebrations. The Club’s incredible landscape, preserved for over a century, makes for one of the most magical locations in Southwest Michigan. 

 

The Club is embarking on a complete transformation over the next few years, beginning with a new, world-class Clubhouse (over 80,000 sqft) on recently acquired land adjacent to the existing property. This clubhouse is designed to offer the membership a plethora of amenities and services that include a full service bar & restaurant, a quick service restaurant, six bowling lanes, movie theater, and state of the art fitness center. Additional amenities located at the clubhouse include world class aquatics and racquet offerings.  For aquatics, we will feature two swimming pools, a family friendly splash pad, and a water slide.  Our new racquet areas will have three indoor tennis courts, 4 outdoor pickleball courts and 4 platform courts.

 

In addition, the Golf Performance Center will include the latest technologies available including six indoor/outdoor hitting bays with Trackman simulators, a putting studio complete with a ZEN putting stage and PUTTVIEW green, along with several of the latest teaching aids available for use. Also, on this new piece of property will be a brand-new Executive Course designed by Andrew Green, a 30,000 sq ft putting green, short game park / wedge range, and driving range. 

 

Once the Clubhouse and surrounding golf amenities are completed (Fall of 2025) Andrew Green will focus his efforts on completely redesigning the current Championship golf course, which will be his first in the world.

The Head Racquets Professional is responsible for leading and managing all racquet sports activities, including tennis, pickleball, squash, and other related programs. This role focuses on providing exceptional member and guest experiences, organizing and implementing racquets programs, training and managing staff, and promoting the overall growth of the racquets department. The ideal candidate will have a passion for racquet sports, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to delivering world-class service.

 

  • Design, implement, and oversee all racquet sports programs, including lessons, clinics, leagues, tournaments, and social events.
  • Develop programs tailored to various skill levels, from beginners to advanced players, ensuring inclusivity and engagement.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and introduce innovative programs to enhance member participation.

The Director of Racquets is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing all aspects of the racquet sports programs within Kalamazoo Country Club, including tennis & pickleball. This role involves developing and implementing youth & adult programs, managing staff, fostering a positive member experience, and ensuring the overall success of racquets programs.

  • Develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive racquets programs, including leagues, tournaments, clinics, lessons and social events.
  • Create a diverse and engaging schedule of events to accommodate players of various skill levels and interests.
